About Me

I am a wife to the man of my dreams! We've been married for nearly three years now and I couldn't imagine my life without him in it! I am also a mom to a seven month old daughter who I absolutely adore! I love the Lord with all my heart...without Him in my life I would not be where I am today! I am enjoying the balancing act of being a stay at home mom and wife and, together with my husband, am enjoying our wonderfully blessed life!!

Finding A Moment

Posted by jennasue

Even though Kaelyn is only just under a month old...I'm already finding that we're taking tons of pictures! I think we've taken more pictures since she was born than we've ever taken in our whole lives! There are just so many wonderful moments and memories to be made and I want to capture everything she does. Along with taking lots of pictures though...comes the task of sifting through them and getting them all printed out and put into an album or her baby book. Although this doesn't sound too terribly complicated...it's still a time-consuming task that is not easily done now that I not only have a house to take care of, but also a daughter. I'm just going to have to take it a day at time and get done what I can.

Dogsitting

Posted by jennasue

While I was pregnant, Scott and I used to dogsit my parents dog from time to time. Recently my mom told me that they are going to be going on a cruise with her office in February....those lucky ducks!...and she needs us to watch Zoe again. I know that it might be kind of a handful having her here and trying to keep up the house and take care of Kaelyn...but I'm really looking forward to it. Zoe is a Bichon...and for anyone who knows anything about this kind of dog...they are absolutely the most loveable dogs around. She is such wonderful company and really a good girl. I don't think it should be too much of a handful...she's pretty independent which is nice.

Lessons in Motherhood: 1

Posted by jennasue

As I've been a stay-at-home-mom now for a few weeks now...I've began to realize that there are certain lessons to be learned. The first one that I'd like to share is that of Taking it a day at a time & going with the flow.

What do I mean when I say take it a day at a time? Well, I began this adventure of motherhood thinking I could continue to have my to-do lists and that I would be able to get everything accomplished in a day like I used to. However, over time I quickly found out that this idea of a day in the life of me was unrealistic. Having a baby to take care of now, I am unable to get my mind set on finishing a list of tasks to get done during the day. Being the organized person that I am, this has been a difficult adjustment for me...but one that I'm learning to get used to. Kaelyn pretty much decides our schedule right now...as she is still very young and is napping and eating when she needs to. I know as time goes on that more of routine will be in place...but it is still not realistic for me to think that I can have a list for each day and get it all done. I've learned that I must take it a day at a time and get done what I can. To me this is one of the most important things to come to terms with if you are staying at home with your children. Life definitely changes and our priorities become our children....our homes and cleaning for all of the other neat freaks out there like me, must come last. I for one am enjoying this first lesson of motherhood that I've learned. It's helped me let loose a little and enjoy my time with Kaelyn.

To My Surprise....

Posted by jennasue

When I first began staying home and not working outside of the home...I was pregnant with Kaelyn. In the beginning I thought to myself...This is going to be great! I'm going to have so much time on my hands to get everything done!....Little did I know that this was not the case. Even though I was a stay-at-home-wife at the time...I still was so very busy. Between the laundry, cleaning the house, working online, etc....I found that it was 5:30 in the evening before I even had time to glance at the clock. It's amazing how quickly time goes when you're busy. I didn't expect for it to be that way...but I guess that's just the way it goes. Now being a stay-at-home-mom is much the same. I find myself making to-do lists, only to find that there's never enough time in a day to get everything done.

Another Great Thanksgiving

Posted by jennasue

Today we had Thanksgiving on my side of the family. My parents were actually down in Texas visiting my brother and his wife and meeting their new Grandson...Emry. They had such a wonderful time and even got to spend Thanksgiving Day down there with them. Now, they are back home and thankfully we got to celebrate Thanksgiving with them too.:) It was such a nice time getting to see everyone. As with Scott's side of the family, there were many extended family members who had not met Kaelyn yet. So, it was so much fun to introduce her to everyone on my side of the family as well....and take lots and lots of pictures of everyone holding her. We are now at home after a very fun day with family.

No Time For Getting Sick....

Posted by jennasue

I am finally feeling better. Thursday night we got home from our Thanksgiving celebrations and in the middle of the night I woke up very sick. At first I wondered if it might be the flu, but with the assortment of symptoms I was experiencing....Scott and I came to the conclusion that it had to be food poisoning of some sort. I have never had food poisoning...and let me tell you...it is not fun!! I am so thankful to be feeling better, not only because I'm my self again, but also because I can better care for Kaelyn again. Being a new mom, I had never experienced being ill and having a baby to take care of at the same time before. In fact, I hadn't really thought about how difficult it would be if this happened. Yesterday I realized how thankful I am to have a caring husband who was there to help me out with whatever I needed. He helped me with Kaelyn so much which was just wonderful! It's almost as if a mom just doesn't have time for getting sick. I'm glad that I don't get sick often...that was not fun! Thank the Lord I am in good health and feeling so much better!!

Happy Thanksgiving

Posted by jennasue

Wow, what a fun and exhausting day!! Today was Thanksgiving Day and we were able to spend it with both Scott's mom's side and his dad's side. It was so fun having Kaelyn here to celebrate her very first Thanksgiving. Many of the extended family members had not met her yet...so it was a nice time to introduce everyone to our daughter! Being a newborn still, she was sleepy most of the time. That worked out well though, because then many people had the opportunity to hold her. Although we had a lot of fun getting to spend time with family and friends, the day kept us very busy and we are very happy to be home to relax before a new day begins. Thanksgiving with my side will be this coming Saturday!

Wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving! I hope time spent with family and friends was wonderful and memorable for you as well!!

Still Figuring It Out

Posted by jennasue

I am still getting used to being a mom and dealing with all of the day to day tasks that I have to get done. Now I am not only responsible for the duties of cleaning the house, doing the bills, getting the laundry done during the day, but I am also responsible for feeding and caring for Kaelyn. It's so much fun, but I'm still figuring out how to get it all done in a day. :) After Kaelyn was born both of my parents came to stay with us for over a week!! It was so wonderful having them here. Not only did they help with the cleaning and cooking...they also helped with Kaelyn too. I am so thankful for all of their help and their company!!

Emry William Has Arrived!!

Posted by jennasue

My twin brother and his wife recently had their first baby yesterday afternoon! Emry William is adorable from the pictures that have been sent via e-mail, and sounds like such a sweet little guy! Kaelyn and Emry were actually due only a day apart, but each of them decided to wait a little longer to arrive. The whole family is ecstatic to finally have Emry here with us!! He's a beautiful and healthy little boy!! The Lord continues to bless our family in so many wonderful ways!! It's so much fun to see our family growing and all of us are so excited to see what God has in store for us next!!

Let The Journey Begin....

Posted by jennasue

My husband and I have been married for 2 1/2 years now and always knew that we wanted children!! Last February we found out that I was pregnant and were extremely excited about it!! We couldn't wait to become parents and meet our little one! :) Those next 9 months went by very quickly, and this month our beautiful daughter was born!! She is everything we had imagined her to be and more. What a blessing she is and has been to our lives so far. Becoming a mother is something I had thought about and dreamed of since I was a little girl. Now, this dream has become a reality and I'm loving every minute of it. The biggest change to becoming a mother is learning to balance all of the other aspects of my life at the same time. Between being a wife, a mother, a stay at home mom who tries to make a little extra cash here and there, as well as keeping the house clean, making meals and getting exercise in once in a while...I've learned that the balancing act of motherhood is not always an easy one, but an adventure I am living daily, learning about with each moment that passes, and loving with all of my heart! I wouldn't change a thing and thank God for each and every day and all that He has blessed our family with! With that said, I thought it would be fun to begin a blog about the adventure of motherhood and the balancing act it entails! I'm looking forward to sharing my life as an everyday mom and relating to other mothers out there who are also experiencing this wonderful adventure and journey of motherhood!!
