About Me
I am a wife to the man of my dreams! We've been married for nearly three years now and I couldn't imagine my life without him in it! I am also a mom to a seven month old daughter who I absolutely adore! I love the Lord with all my heart...without Him in my life I would not be where I am today! I am enjoying the balancing act of being a stay at home mom and wife and, together with my husband, am enjoying our wonderfully blessed life!!

As I've said many times before, staying home with my daughter is one of the best decisions I've ever made. It has required some financial sacrifices, but I wouldn't change it for the world! Being home, I feel that I can do what I can to make some extra money, even if I'm not working outside of the home. So far I feel I've been very successful in doing so. Not only can I try to do what I can to make money, but I also can take some time to search for ways to make us money through investments as well. Labels: Internet, Making Money, Motherhood
Recently while browsing the web, I came across a web release about the Monex Deposit Company. Have you ever heard of it before? I have heard a little bit about them, but was interested in learning more about purchasing precious metals like silver or gold coin as an investment option. What I found was that Monex is a well-respected company that makes it easy for people like you and me to purchase precious metals and arrange for them to immediately be delivered to us or a place of safe storage...maybe at a bank for example. I was impressed with this company that's been around for over 30 years, and I though there would be many others who would like to learn more as well. Their site offers a wealth of information if you're interested in learning more for yourself.

We moved into our house last year, and have done so many things to it in just a short amount of time. I am always amazed how much can be done to a room without actually having to spend a lot of money. We've done everything from painting to putting up walls, but there's still one big thing we'd like to do at some point. We'd like to get some nice furniture for our screened in porch. We have some furniture in there right now, but it's a large enough area, that we'd like to get some else as well. I was thinking some teak furniture would be nice. We'll have to see when the time comes. Labels: Home
Commercials
Posted by jennasue
As I sat here tonight watching TV with Scott...we got to talking about how many commercials there are on television. I know that the commercials are necessary, but sometimes when you're watching a program that you're very into....it is frustrating to have a commercial for Alli diet pills, or something else pop up. I actually really enjoy most of the commercials that are on television these days...I just wish that there weren't so many of them during the times of day when most people finally get the chance to sit down and watch some of their favorite television shows. Buy a Grill Cover
Posted by jennasue
Tonight Scott grilled us some really yummy hamburgers for supper. It's been a while since we've been able to grill, because our grill sits outside and the weather has been very bitter cold over the past few months. As I helped Scott get our supper ready, I realized that it would have been easier to use our grill this winter if we had a grill cover. Our grill would not only be protected from the winter weather, but it also would not be covered in snow...making it very difficult to use until now when much of the snow is gone. I think we're going to have to consider looking for a grill cover before winter approaches again. It would definitely be worth the money if it meant we would get to have more meals like we had tonight. Labels: Health
Buying Tools For Father's Day
Posted by jennasue
My husband has been trying to build up his tool supply ever since we moved into our new home. He now has I nice sized garage to keep everything in, and we're doing more projects on our home. Because of this, he's been needing more and more tools to get the jobs done. I have been taking note of the different things he wants and needs, so that when the time comes around to buy him a gift, I can get him tools. I know that he'd really like a nail gun as well as a box cutter or utility knife of some kind, and a tool chest. I'm not sure which I will buy him first...but I think I will keep all of these things in mind for Father's Day this year. That's a ways off, but I'm always taking note of gift ideas and planning ahead. Labels: Home
Money Saving Tip
Posted by jennasue
One of the things I've learned as a stay at home mom, is that there are many ways to save money. Before I had Kaelyn, I never realized all of the ways that we could save money just by doing simple things. Whether it be by making our own baby food when the time comes, or something else....there are really very easy ways to save a few dollars here and there. It may seem easier to just go out and buy whatever it is you need rather than make it from scratch or do something along those lines...but for me...as a stay at home mom, I think it is great to find new ways to save us money where I can. Being a stay at home mom is the best job anyone could ever have, and the most important...and with it many make sacrifices so that financially it is possible to be home for our children. That's why saving a little here and there is really very important and worth a little extra time. Labels: Children, Home, Motherhood
Where am I going with this?! Well, whenever I learn a new tip that other moms would enjoy learning about....I like to share it with them. So, what is my tip for today?! Well, recently I was reading an article online about cleaning our shower curtain. I have never really thought twice about throwing out the old one and buying a new one, until I read this article. Basically, the point made was that you can wash your old shower curtain in the washing machine with regular laundry detergent and a little bleach if you like. The only thing to remember is that you must not turn it up too hot....plastic can melt! It also brought up the topic of mildew and mold. A great way to prevent it is to soak your shower curtain in a salt water solution. To get rid of mildew and mold that is already there you can just soak it in hot soapy water with a little bleach....it will be good as new!
I personally have not tried these things yet, but am definitely planning on doing so. What a great way to save a trip to the store and having to buy a new shower curtain. I can't believe I didn't think of this before...what a great money saving tip! If you have any other money saving ideas I'd love to hear them!!
Misikko Flat Irons
Posted by jennasue

Being a stay at home mom there are many sacrifices made financially, but it is so worth it knowing I have the opportunity to stay home with our little girl. Trying to save money where we can, it's always nice to have the opportunity to try new products and review them. One of the most recent items that I had the opportunity to review was a Misikko flat iron. The reason I was so excited to have a product like this is because I have naturally wavy hair, and many times I have wished that there was an easy and quick way to straighten it out. Another thing with being a stay at home mom....there isn't a lot of time to get ready during the day...so anything to make that process easier is wonderful!
After trying the Misikko flat iron a number of times, I was very impressed. I have tried flat irons in the past that did not do what they say they will. This product however, did everything that it stated it would and even more. It easily straightened my hair with very little effort. I believe that the nice iron, as well as the heat settings are what made the difference. It's a wonderful product that I would recommend to anyone facing the same hair issues as I am. It's definitely worth buying, because you won't need to find another one again...this will be the only product you need to leave your hair straight and shiny. Definitely consider this flat iron if you're looking for something that will easily and quickly straighten your hair.
True Meaning of Easter
Posted by jennasue
My husband and I watch the Passion of the Christ movie every year around Easter time. It's the most moving movie I've ever seen and helps to remind me of exactly what Christ has done for me. He lived, He died, and He ROSE AGAIN! He took my sin and my pain upon Himself so that I could be saved and can live eternally with Him one day! Isn't He amazing?!?!! How exciting to know that because I have given Him my life, putting my faith and trust in Him completely, and through acceptance of Him and believing in Him I will spend eternity in Heaven with Him one day!!:) I am just speechless when I think of all He's done for us, how much He loves us, and how much He continues to do for us everyday! With that said, I recently came across a short clip from YouTube that I wanted to share with everyone...remember what Christ has done for you, not only this time of year, but throughout the entire year and surrender your life to Him...He is the "way, the truth and the life"; and NO man will come unto the Father but by Him!(John 14:6) He's the ONLY way!!
Wedding Flowers
Posted by jennasue
It's that time of year when many people begin to receive wedding invitations in the mail. Spring and Summer are the most popular times to get married. We've already started getting invitations in the mail, and it got me thinking about my own wedding and how much work went into planning it. It was so much fun planning all of the details, but I remember the flowers being the most stressful part. Not only did we have to decide on the types of flowers we wanted, but we also had to find flowers that were affordable and those that fit into our budget.
For anyone planning a wedding, I would definitely recommend checking out FiftyFlowers. They are a company I recently came across that makes it easy to find the flowers you want at the prices you can afford. Whether you're looking for calla lilies, fresh rose petals, gerbera daisies, hydrangeas, or something else...this site has it all! They have a variety of flowers at prices below wholesale. Definitely check out their site when you're ready to start looking for cheap, quality flowers!

When we bought our home last year, we knew that there would be many things we wanted to update and do down the line. We are fortunate enough to have family that has helped us a lot with the little jobs that we would like to do. Most recently we have done some remodeling in our house lately and we are ready to do some new trim work. My parents actually came up this past weekend to help us out with this job. My dad has the saws, compressor and nail gun that we will need to finish the job. I am really happy that the job is done...it looks so great! I took no time at all...and such a small change has made such a huge difference in the appearance of our home. It's really fun to be homeowners and make the changes that we want to...I enjoy it so much more than renting and hardly being able to hang a picture on the wall. Labels: Home
Growing Fast
Posted by jennasue
Ever since Kaelyn was born, people have been telling us that she will grow up fast! I remember my parents telling me that other people had told them the same when we were little. I guess it's not something you completely understand until you have children of your own. Now, I completely understand what everyone has been saying....she has grown so much right before our eyes. She has really been changing a lot! She's doing so many new things, like rolling over, cooing, sitting, etc. It's so fun to watch, and remarkable that only 4 1/2 months ago she was just a newborn. It's really hard to imagine, but in only a few short years she'll be in school. We cherish each and every moment, because she's only a little girl for such a short period of time...what a blessing she is to our lives!!
Father's Day
Posted by jennasue
I was just thinking about Father's Day this year and how it will be the first year that Scott will be celebrating it. He's such a great dad and I'd love to find him something really special. I know he could really use a new watch and I think I have found the perfect Patek Nautilus. It's perfect for the style that he enjoys wearing and I think that he would really enjoy something like this. I know it's a ways off...but I'm the type of person who enjoys planning a head. I'll keep looking, but I think this could be the one. Labels: Parenting
Life Insurance
Posted by jennasue
Now that we have a baby, we have talked an awful lot about life insurance. life insurance quotes are something that we've looked into and gotten a lot of because we feel it's important to make sure that we're taken care of and our daughter is taken care of. It's not something we had discussed much before the birth of Kaelyn...but after having her it was definitely something that was very important to us. It's amazing how life changes and having a baby makes you think about things like that and encourages you to take things more seriously.
Summer Vacation
Posted by jennasue
A great place that Scott and I were talking we'd like to visit sometime in the near future is Branson. We've always thought it would be fun to take a mini vacation there and to bring Kaelyn as well. I've heard that they have all sort of things to do. Scott and I both really enjoy golf, so I know that we'd probably want to take advantage of the Branson private golf clubs there. They also are supposed to have wonderful restaurants and other fun entertainment things. It sounds like a lot of fun and something we may have to look into doing this summer sometime.
The Orovo Store
Posted by jennasue
I enjoy learning of new ways to stay healthy and take care of myself. I always find myself looking for different products and things to try and use. Recently I came across The Orovo Store. From what I can tell, they offer great products for those wanting to take care of themselves. Whether it's acne prevention you're looking for or weight loss products...this site really has it all. I really liked all this site had to offer. Not only do they offer great items that are always in stock, but they provide excellent customer service as well! If you too enjoy taking care of yourself, this is a great place to start.
An Orlando Family Vacation
Posted by jennasue
I know I've talked about this a lot lately...but boy would it be nice to take a vacation. I got to thinking about this again I was watched the snow falling yesterday. It sure would be nice to get away for a short vacation...somewhere nice and warm that Scott, Kaelyn and I could all go!! I got to thinking about all of the fun vacations that I went on as a child...and one of the most memorable was when we went Orlando, Florida and got to go to Disney World! I will never forget that vacation as long as I live. I would like to give my children a vacation like that one day, just like my parents did us. When the time is right, I think Orlando would be a great place to go!!
I was talking with Scott about it a little bit, and he suggested we look online to find a site that would make planning a trip like that easier. He's right, planning a vacation like that can be quite stressful without the right planning guides and tools. As we began searching, one site in particular really caught our attention....OrlandoHotels.com. This makes planning a vacation to Orlando so easy with all of their easy to use features and travel guides. It would be simple for us to book our Cheap Orlando Hotels and plan our trips to Disney World and Universal Studios. I don't know about you, but having a helpful site like this to help us out would be wonderful! If you're in the same situation as us...and are looking at traveling to Orlando, Florida...I recommend check this site out. We were quite impressed with all they had to offer and I think others would be as well.
Pacifier Use
Posted by jennasue
I'm not sure about other parents out there, but once I became a mom (even while I was still pregnant in fact) it seems I did more research on everything we bought, and decisions we made, than I ever had before. All of a sudden it was more important to me to find information on things like air purifiers, food, cleaners...even vaccinations and breastfeeding. I want the very best for my children...so researching the internet and reading books became an everyday occurrence for me that still holds true today! Labels: Children, Health, Internet, Motherhood
My latest "research" was done on pacifiers and their use. Not only was I looking for information on pacifier vs thumb sucking, but also the type of pacifier that was best for my daughter. In reading many different articles from noteworthy sites and books, I found that there are many people who back the use of pacifiers, and many that don't. The bottom line for me is....parents don't really get a choice in the matter. A baby either comes out of the womb sucking his/her thumb, or they do not. My daughter prefers the pacifier 100%!! At first I was a little skeptical because I am also breastfeeding and did not want any problems with nipple confusion. I know there are many controversial debates on the issue, but we have decided that this is ok for us to use with our daughter. The only time she uses it is when she needs something to help her calm down. She rarely uses it before she goes to sleep...it's more for the simple purpose of "pacifying" herself once in a while.
There are some very important things to remember when using a pacifier though. One must always make sure that they are using a pacifier that suits the federal standards so that it is not a choking hazard...this also means throwing out old pacifiers with torn nipples. It's also important to make sure that the pacifier is clean to prevent unwanted germs and infections. Finally, and this is up to the parent, but we have decided that it's also important to find pacifiers that are safe and natural. There is so much debate going on these days about the plastics our baby's are putting in their mouths (including bottles and pacifiers). We prefer the Soothie pacifiers, which are not only one piece, but are latex free and made of medical-grade silicone.
I'm sure there will be many things that come up that I will full research before using...and this just happened to be the most current issue we were facing.
Getting a Car Loan
Posted by jennasue
At the beginning of year, Scott and I got to talking pretty seriously about how we'd like a newer vehicle that was more practical for our growing family after Kaelyn was born. We had a very nice car at the time, but really were looking for a small SUV of some sort....one that would be great for traveling and taking family vacations. Within a very short time, it all worked out and we were able to purchase the vehicle we wanted from my parents, while my uncle bought the car we owned at the time. It worked out perfectly!!
Well, not everything went perfectly. The one thing that did not go as smoothly was the Car Loans process. It was not an easy task to find a company that was willing to give us quotes the services we desired. Next time we look into buying a car of any type, we're definitely going to look into other options as far as auto loans are concerned. I've heard great things about Carsblvd.com. From what I've been told, they make it really easy to get a free quote on a loan, as well as getting the loan you need to purchase a new or used vehicle!! Next time I want something as simple as that. How about you? Wouldn't it be nice if the car loan process was a piece of cake?! I sure think it would be.
Baby Milestones
Posted by jennasue
One of the greatest things in life is seeing the changes our children make...especially when they're in those first few years of life and learning more than they ever will again. Scott and I constantly find ourselves amazed at all our little girl is doing!! It's funny how the littlest things have us running for the video camera lately. Recently, Kaelyn let out her first official baby laugh!! She had giggled in the past, but this was a true laugh that made our hearts just melt. She has laughed a number of times since then, but we haven't yet gotten it on tape. One thing I have learned is to keep the video camera near me at all time! Babies learn to do things so quickly...and she's changing right before our eyes. She has brought so much joy to our lives...we are truly blessed!
