I always enjoy finding wholesome movies for my kids to watch….something that teaches a good lesson and is age appropriate. That’s why I was excited to have the opportunity to review the latest DVD to release from Max Lucado’s Hermie and Friends Series: Antonio Meets His Match.
When it arrived in the mail, Kaelyn was very eager to watch it. She saw the front cover which immediately sparked her curiosity. I let her watch it, and to my surprise…she sat through most of it (that doesn’t happen very often with a two year old :)). What I like most about this movie was that the focus was on loving your neighbor…a lesson that’s important for everyone…both children and adults alike.
In this movie, Antonio is looked up to as the brave ant for the way he leads his army ants and defends the garden. When other foreign ants move into the garden, Antonio would like to make them leave, but is reminded by God that each one of us is to love our neighbor. I don’t want to give away the movie, but let’s just say that although it’s not easy for Antonio and his friends to accept the new ants, they work on loving their neighbors.
I thought this movie was very well made and would recommend it to any parent looking for a wholesome children’s movie with a good message.
Buy It: You can purchase Antonio Meets His Match DVD from Thomas Nelson Publishers for $14.99.
