When we spent the day at the Iowa State Fair this summer, I saw a family strolling around their child in a Little Tikes 4-in1 Trike. It caught my eye right away and I thought it was the coolest thing! (It’s funny the things that catch my attention now that I’m a mommy) I knew it would be something fun to have for Aliyah and I’m excited to have the chance to share with you more about it!
We received the Little Tikes 4-in-1 Trike Sports Edition in red, which is just one of Little Tikes’ many design options. This tricycle grows with your child from 9 months all the way up to 36 months. I LOVE having toys that can grow with my child! The design makes this trike perfect for learning how to ride, steer and pedal.
- Parking brake
- 5-point seat harness
- Removable protective safety bar
- Padded seat
- Seat adjusts to 4 positions
- Removable seat cover and handy pack
- Beverage holder
- Removable shade canopy adjusts to any angle
- Storage bucket
- Footrests can either fold back or can be completely removed
- Weight limit up to 50lbs.
When the trike arrived, I was excited to get it set up and try it out. It came completely disassembled (of course), so there was quite a bit of setting up to do! I tackled assembling it on my own, which took a good 45 minutes before it was ready to go. It was easy to put together, just time consuming with all of the parts. Once it was all together I was really impressed with how solid it was! And I was pretty proud of my work, if I do say so myself.
There are four stages that the trike will transform into, allowing it to grow with your little one.
Stage 1 – Guided (9+ months) — Parents push and have full control. With the waist bar installed the child will be unable to turn the wheel.
Stage 2-Learning (12+ months) — Footrests are pulled up so toddlers can learn how to pedal, but is still unable to turn the wheel.
Stage 3-Developing (18+ months) — With the waist bar removed and footrests up child can now peddle and steer while the parent still has control with the push bar
Stage 4-Independent (36+ months) – Remove the push bar to let kids peddle and steer on their own!
Some of my favorite features include the 5-point safety harness, the zippered pouch and water bottle holder, and the padded seat.
The 5-point harness is great safety feature for all the stages. Without it, it would be impossible to keep Ali in without her wiggling out!
The zippered pouch and the water bottle holder other great features as well. It’s nice to have a place to store my phone, wallet, Ali’s sippy cup, my water, or whatever else I need to take along with me.
I think the padded seat is also great for adding comfort and keeping your child from sliding around on the seat!
The Little Tikes 4-in-1 Trike is really a great little trike! It is solid, well made, and has many great features. I LOVE that it will grow with Aliyah, so she can use it for years to come!
