Q: What is the worst thing about baby gear?
A: Storing it when it’s not being used!
I think most parents would agree that storing their most beloved baby gear can be extremely challenging. At the moment, I have two kids. I’m pretty sure that we will have another at some point in the future, so for now I have to figure out what to do with a lot of bulky baby gear. Wouldn’t it be cool is if more of my baby gear could actually grow with my kids?

I was given the opportunity to review the PortaPlay Convertible Activity Center; a product that will grow with my child!
From 5-12 months it’s an Activity Center. Then it’s a Play Table for children up to 5 years old.
From the moment the UPS carrier dropped off the box I was really impressed. Even the packaging was bright and beautiful and I was hoping that was a good sign of what I would find inside the box as well.
The PortaPlay Convertible Activity Center was packaged neatly within the box. The pieces were individually wrapped in plastic and separated by nice thick cardboard, ensuring that my product arrived in great condition. The outer box was also made of nice thick cardboard. I’m a fan of this because there are a lot of projects we could do with this box in the future.
It came with five learning toys: winding vines, chewy blossom, spinning owl, popping squirrel and mirror book. All the toys looked cute and seemed very original with a lot of attention to detail.
Squeeze the green buttons and the table legs fold in and out for maximum portability and space saving.
By sliding the green lever you can adjust the height of the table legs.
The white plastic seat pops into place and the washable seat pad snaps onto the seat.
My daughter, Cora, is now 10 months old and she fit nicely into the seat. I also could have adjusted the table height if I wanted her to be more on her tippy toes so she could bounce. Within the seat pad are integrated elastic bands that allow for a 3″ bounce.
The chewy blossom toy is made from FDA approved food grade thermoplastics and is great for chewing or swatting.
Each toy easily pops into place and encourages baby to use different skills.
The toys can remain installed on the table even once the seat is taken out, however, the toys are only able to be installed so they face inward. Therefore, some of the toys are not as usable from the outside of the table.
Once the toys are taken off and the green clips are in place, the activity center becomes a great work table for coloring, tea parties and the like! The white middle piece is made of wood and sets nicely in the center of the table. It does not lock into place though, so it could fall out if the table were to be tipped over.
The table does move a little bit if you push on the surface. I’m assuming it is probably made with a little bit of give for when it’s used as the activity center. The one change I would like to see in the future is a storage bag included for the toys and activity center seat and seat pad for when its not in use.
So far, I’ve had almost every parent who has entered my home ask me where I got the table. They’ve all appreciated the bright, modern appeal and the fact that it easily converts and folds down for storage.
