It’s mid-way through October which means that there are nine Saturdays left until Christmas. Let me follow that statement by saying that I’m not the mom who gets all her Christmas shopping done way ahead of time, but I am that mom that starts making a list of potential Christmas gift ideas so I have something in mind and ideas to share with family members when they ask. When looking for Christmas gifts for my kids I really look for quality because there’s nothing worse than spending money on something only to have it break long before it should.
Little Tikes has been creating fun, quality, interactive children’s items for over 45 years now. I played with some of their classics growing up and my kids have enjoyed some of the classics along with the new products as well. So I was excited when I learned I’d have the chance to review a fun new toy from Little Tikes!
The Little Tikes RC Tire Twister is brand new and a has wild twist on the classic remote control car.
The double-sided race car is powered by a remote. It can turn, move forward and backward, flip and side-spin. Then, it can be placed inside of the tire and taken it to a whole new level. The easy-to-steer remote control race car moves on the inside of the tire to spin and roll in different directions.
This past week we had a couple play dates at our house and each time all the kids wanted to take turns with the RC Tire Twister and the moms were asking where we had gotten it. They had never seen anything like it before.
The RC Tire Twister came with three separate pieces. The car, the remote and the tire.
One thing I liked most about this car was it’s versatility and how it was easy to use for my 3.5 year old. We had a remote control car in the past, but my son was often frustrated with it because it was difficult to maneuver and would often get stuck in a corner. The RC Twister can move in so many different ways that my son really enjoys playing with it instead of feeling frustrated.
The remote is simple and a good size for my son’s hands. There is an on/off switch on the remote as well as on the blue side of the car.
The black ribbon sticking out next to the driver’s head makes changes the batteries very easy. When you unscrew the compartment to change the batteries just pull on the ribbon and the old batteries pop out.
Another thing I liked about the RC Tire Twister was the quality and durability. Since this is a toy that is likely to get driven down the stairs and crashed into things, durability is important. The car itself is solid and the tires are made of thick rubber. Since the car can flip over and still land on the tires the plastic on the car is protected during inevitable crashes. The big tire is made of hard plastic and also seems very durable.
Here are a few videos to show you a bit of our experience with the RC Tire Twister:
Hard floor verses carpet: We tried playing withe the RC Tire Twister on both the hard wood floors and the bumpy carpet and found that it worked just as well on either surface.
• Two toys in one
• Keep the race car on the inside of the tire to move and flip it around
• Remove the race car from the tire for normal driving on the floor
• Tire can move forwards and backwards
• The tire can spin 360 degrees
• Remote control is easy for kids to hold
• Requires 5 “AA” alkaline batteries (not included)
* 2 batteries for the remote
* 3 batteries for the race car
Overall, myself and my son have been really happy with the RC Tire Twister. It’s tons of fun and we would definityly recommend it to our friends!
