If your child is about to turn another year older, you will probably be busy planning their party already. But do you know exactly what kind of party you are going to throw for them? There are various themes that you could use, some of which will be more of a hit than others. To make sure you get your party theme just right and your child has an awesome party, here are my best ideas for kid’s party themes. All of them are sure to be a massive hit with everyone invited!
Teddy Bear’s Picnic
This is a top idea for toddlers and young children. Plus, it will work out very cheap as you can hold it in your own home. On the invites, make sure you write a note asking each child to bring their favorite teddy bear or stuffed toy to the party. The toy can be their plus one! If the weather is good, you will be able to have the picnic outside in your garden. Just remember to get plenty of blankets so that you can create a true picnic setting. If it is going to rain on the day of your party, don’t worry! Just spread all the blankets across the floor of your living room. You can then play a lot of bear-themed games, such as pin the tail on the bear!
I can’t think of a child I know that doesn’t love chocolate! As all kids have a sweet tooth, basing your party around this beloved sweet treat will certainly go down a storm. There are loads of craft kits involving chocolate, and you will be able to find them in toy stores or online. As you will most likely have to heat and melt the chocolate to make your own treats with it, this party idea is best for slightly older children, aged between seven and ten.
Every child has their favorite character from books, so ask all the guests to dress up as their fave fictional character. But make sure they know that it should be someone from a storybook, not out of a movie! You could also ask the kids to bring a couple of books each, and you could have a book exchange. But remember to tell everyone that they need to return their books to the owner at some point! You can also play lots of story themed games as well. One idea is the left right game for parties at home.
Why not turn your home into Rio de Janeiro for the day and host your very own carnival! There isn’t quite as much work that needs to go into this plan as you might think! You just need to decorate your home with lots of bright colors and ask your guests to turn up in appropriate fancy dress. Preparing some Brazilian-themed food will also be a nice touch. You should also find some samba music to help get the kids in the mood!
