As a mom we can find ourselves under pressure trying to everyone happy, and more often than not it can feel like we are failing. We spend our lives dashing around after others. Ferrying the children to school, going to work, trying to squeeze all of our work in, dashing back to school and then back home again we find ourselves busy juggling the housework with the needs of our family. Is it possible to do it all and to keep everyone happy? Firstly, we need to accept that it is impossible to do it all on our own. We need to be able to accept help. However, there are ways that we can keep everyone in our family happy!
Hack 1 – Keeping Your Elderly Relatives Happy
It can be tough if we are one of the sandwich generation trying to balance the needs of our young children with the needs of our elderly parents/relatives. There is help on hand! We could look into home care for our parents/elderly relatives. This would take the pressure of us but also give us peace of mind that our relatives are receiving quality care. This would allow us to spend some quality time with our relatives, instead of dashing around trying to do all of their chores etc.
Hack 2 – Get A Cleaner
Having a weekly cleaner will help free up more time for you to spend as a family. You will also feel much better coming home to a clean house. Instead of having to nag someone to help you with the cleaning, you will be able to kick back and relax with the family instead.
Hack 3 – Shop Online
It is a well known fact that food shopping with your child can be tortuous and hideous. It can be an event that leaves everyone crying. So avoid the stress and do your food shopping online instead. That way you can do it from the comfort of your couch when the children are in bed. This also means that you avoid any impulse buys and it means that you don’t have to deal with a tantrum in the sweeties aisle.
Hack 4 – Use A Slow-Cooker
The more meals you cook in the slow-cooker: the less stressed you will be. It’s so easy to use. When you get up in a morning, throw your meat, vegetables and liquid into the slow-cooker and leave it to cook all day. Then when you get home you won’t need to worry about trying to throw a meal together because it will already be cooked. You can find some brilliant slow-cooker cookbooks on Amazon.
Hack 5 – Get Everything Ready The Night Before
You should get all school uniforms and work clothes out the night before. That way you won’t be rushing around in the morning trying to find everything. As a result the mornings should be calmer and no arguments should happen *touch wood*.
These 5 time saving-hacks will help you on a daily basis and will ensure that everyone in the family is happy! Do you have a time-saving hack?
